Referee – Level One Workshop

We are now taking registrations for referees to attend our next BBNZ Level One Referee Workshop. This is an opportunity to upskill your refereeing and also to seek advancement along our Referee Development Pathway.

BBNZ Referee Trainer John Bartlett will deliver the course:

• Monday 24 March 2025
• 5:30pm – 8:00pm
• Middleton Grange (Old Gym)
• Free to attend

To Register:

• You must have completed the online portion of the Referee Level One Course before you can attend the workshop – see canterbury.basketball/bbnz-referee-courses for instructions to enrol in this if you need (the online course will take approximately three hours to complete)
• Go to members.nz.basketball, and login with your GameDay account (if you do not have one, you can register to Canterbury here)
• Click on “Qualifications” on the left-hand side of your membership portal, then log into etrainu by hitting the orange button, and accept the terms

• Then once joined up to etrainu, follow this link to enrol in the workshop

To receive a Level One Referee certification, referees must complete three steps including this practical workshop:

• Complete the online learning component via etrainu (estimated time 2.5-3 hours) – before 22 March 2025
• Attend a Level One Practical Workshop
• Have an in-game assessment by a certified referee trainer. (Once you have done the first two steps, you can request to be assessed, by filling in this form)
