The Canterbury U23 Men’s team – 2018 National Champions

Canterbury Basketball runs a full representative program, delivered by the Canterbury Regional Basketball Foundation, with Caleb Harrison having responsibility for the delivery of our program.

Most National Tournaments see us enter a Waitaha team, which is a combination team made up of the best players from Metro and North Canterbury.

The general time frame for each year is as follows:

  • Term One – Summer Development Leagues (SDL) offered again for those not involved in summer sports, and trials for representative squads take place
  • Term Two – selection and qualification tournaments, before competing at National or Mainland Tournaments (U15, U17 and U19)
  • Term Three – U23 teams selected and competes at National Tournament; U13 Selection before competing at South Island or Invitational Tournament
  • Term Four – SDL offered for U12 – U18 players (who do not have a summer sport)
