We’re excited to announce the Term 4 2024 Canterbury Basketball Association (CBA) Coaches Connection Forum. This forum offers a unique chance for coaches of all levels to connect, collaborate, and improve their coaching skills.’
The normal CCF for coaches with 2+ years experience will be offered again with an exciting new curriculum, and we are most excited to announce another session prior focused on womens and girls in their early stages of coaching or wanting an entry point into coaching.
Held on Thursday evenings at Cashmere High School, this term’s forum includes two sessions each week, catering to different coaching levels. It’s a great opportunity to develop your coaching ability while engaging with the CBA community – and yes, food is provided!
The second session (October 31st) will be headlined by Pouakai Coach Paul Flynn running the women’s and girls session, and incoming 2025 Rams Head Coach Quinn Clinton running the Boys session.

The forum focuses on developing coaches in the Why, How, and What of community coaching, using the Canterbury Basketball Style of Coaching. This is your chance to develop your approach with:

Each session will start with a 30-minute classroom discussion to dive into the “whys” and “hows” of coaching. Coaches will then move on-court to observe or assist in a demonstration practice that focuses on a new “what” aspect of the CBA’s style of play each week.
Coach developers will be on hand to support you, answer questions, and provide guidance.
We’ll make sure you’re fuelled and ready to go, with snacks available during the sessions.
