Week two is here! Who is making top 8 for Div One?
Week two is here for our NZCT competitions with both Division One Thomson and our Grocott grades facing division splits in two weeks times. Meaning results are very important.
Pool A- Christ’s College, Rangiora High, Kaiapoi High, Lincoln High
This week’s match ups:
🏆Christ’s College vs Rangiora- Looking to be Christ’s biggest contest before the split but looking to keep possession of the Dowson Cup.
🏀Lincoln vs Kaiapoi- Could be a good game, but Kaiapoi have had their warmup vs Christ’s so will look to be the stronger team.
Pool B- Hillmorton High, Shirley Boys, Rolleston College, Riccarton High
This week’s match ups:
🏀Rolleston vs Hillmorton- Hillmorton showed dominance last week, which will likely continue this week.
🏀Shirely vs Riccarton- Shirley will be looking to get their first win with their young team.
Pool C- St Bede’s, St Thomas, Christchurch Boys, Middleton
This week’s match ups:
🏀St Thomas vs St Bede’s- This will be a good test for St Bede’s without Rams player Marco Sula. Will St Thomas capitalize on this?
🏀Middleton vs CBHS- Could be match up of the night, expecting to be a good close game. Will CBHS under new leadership get the W.
Pool D- St Andrews, Cashmere, Burnside, Ashburton
🏀St Andrew’s vs Ashburton- A dominant StAC team will look to show no mercy to Ashburton.
🏀Cashmere vs Burnside- Can Cashmere carry on their dominant performance from last week?
Whelan Division One
Exciting times as we have ten teams in this division this year. Two teams have stepped up from Division Two and a new addition completely.
🏀St Andrew’s vs Kaiapoi- StAC playing a different team to the one they’ve faced the past two finals. What will their score be this week?
🏆St Margaret’s vs CGHS- after taking the silverware off Hillmorton, St Margarets will want to make sure it stays in their cabinet.
🏀Rangiora vs Avonside- A young yet strong Avonside will look to cement their place as a finals favourite.
🏀Cashmere vs Hillmorton- Could be a good match up in the Whelan space. Will Hillmorton be able to stay strong the whole game this week?
🏀Marian vs Villa- deferred due to school production
Thomson Division Two
🏀Hornby vs RNLS- Hornby looking strong early.
🏀Oxford vs Cathedral- Cathedral showed they know ball once again last week and likely to do the same.
🏀Te Aratai vs Papanui- should be a good match up and give Te Aratai and idea of where they stand.
Whelan Division Two
🏀Middleton vs RNLS- Middleton looking strong early.
🏀Oxford vs Papanui- Both teams wanting a W, Will Papanui show their strength.
🏀Rangi Ruru vs Ashburton- A good challenge and could give an early indication of who will be likely finalists.
