Coaches Connection Forum

Register here!

The Coaches Connection Forum (CCF) is a weekly event for coaches of all abilities to connect with other coaches and learn about current best practices guidelines and models.

To encourage our community to have stronger connections, Coaches, and people looking into coaching, will have the opportunity to engage informally with others over food and drinks prior to the 60 min coaching demonstration.

Everyone from experienced rep coaches to the many parent and student coaches looking to up-skill are encouraged to attend. Register here!

There are two separate sessions that cover similar material but adjusted for the age and stage of the athlete. Should you not be able to attend your desired sessions, either will be of benefit and the principles and network will cross over, so we’d encourage you to attend. The full programme outline can be found here.

Unit 2: BBNZ basics of offensive style of play, associated fundamental defensive skills, using constraint based drills instead of prescriptive drills to develop skills relational to style of play.

Unit 4: Continual improvement and co-lead teams. How to engage players as facilitators in the continual growth and strategy of their teams. Moving away from answers as coaches to asking the right questions.

Who?

Again, CCF is open to all coaches, particularly those new or novice to coaching. It is a great opportunity to a strong support network in the coaching scene and to learn.

The CCF is headed by Canterbury Basketball Associations Head of Pathways and Community Development Benjamin Constable, and supported by trained coach developers and experienced coaches.

We would also like to acknowledge the support of basketball New Zealand in this venture.
