Girls Got Game – Term 4 Wrap-Up!

A wrap-up of our GGG deliveries to finish off 2024. Thanks to the schools for hosting us!

Term Four saw our biggest numbers yet for Girls Got Game in 2024!

Girls Got Game sessions are all about creating inclusive, empowering spaces where girls of all skill levels can come together, build friendships, and discover a love for basketball.

Our dedicated coaches focus on more than just skills on the court—they emphasize teamwork, communication, and leadership to help players grow as individuals and as a team. With the support of inspiring female mentors and role models, these sessions aim to spark confidence, resilience, and passion for sport in every participant.

A huge thank you to all the schools who welcomed us into their kura and made this term a standout success. This term, we had the privilege of working with incredible girls aged 7 to 16 across schools like Opawa, Russley, Banks Ave, Whītau, Rāwhiti, Rowley, Papanui, and Haeata.

If you’d like your school to be part of Girls Got Game in 2024, don’t miss out! Get in touch with Ty at ty@canterbury.basketball to bring these sessions to your kura.

Here’s to empowering more girls and growing the game, we all love!
