We are thrilled to announce our next GLOW FEST—3×3 glow-in-the-dark basketball event for girls! This exciting 2 Degrees and Basketball New Zealand’s Girls Got Game initiative will take place on Saturday, the 29th of March, at Cowles Stadium.

This is a ticketed event and spaces are limited-secure your spot now as ticket sales close Monday 24th of March!!!

Event Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday, 29th of March | 3 sessions according to age
  • Location: Cowles Stadium
  • Who: Girls aged 7-15 (Beginners, casual players, and team members all welcome)
  • Divisions:  Sessions 2 & 3 will have two divisions—Beginner & Experienced
  • Activities: Half 3×3 basketball games and half dance party (for girls 7-12)/ Shooting comps (for girls 13-15)-all under UV/party lights!
  • Free bag & water bottle for each participant
  • Prizes, music and heaps of fun!

What to Expect:

GLOW FEST is more than just basketball- it’s a vibrant celebration designed to engage girls in a fun and unique way!

Get your glow on! Teams of 3-5 girls will compete in 3×3 basketball, while soaking up the dance party atmosphere. We encourage teams to dress in matching fluorescent outfits, and we’ll provide fluorescent body paint & glow sticks, so they shine, as the lights go down!

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Best Team Name
  • Best Team Uniform
  • Best Team Dance
  • Best Team Cheer
  • Best Team Sportswomanship.

For the older girls the shooting comps will be 3 point shootout, foul shots, and others!

This is a wonderful chance for girls to bring their friends, enjoy basketball together, and make unforgettable memories.

This is a participation-based event- no scorekeeping, just plenty of smiles!

Gather your friends, pick a fun team name (you’ll enter this on the form to link your team) and register now! to secure your spot at this unmissable event!

You can sign up individually or as a team.

 

Session 1: Mini-ballers; (Ages 7-9)

Time: 11:00am- 1:00pm

Christchurch’s basketball clubs will be on hand supporting this event- a great chance to learn more about club basketball here in Ōtautahi!

A Tall Fern will be visiting our sessions for autographs and photos!
