Inclusion Basketball League Awards and Finals Night

Inclusion Basketball League was a huge success in Term 3!

Canterbury Basketball hosted our first Inclusion League this term. Our six-week comp was a huge success. We had five teams join us to create a league for ballers who have disabilities. Most of the players were high school age with a few teammates being younger or older. Holding this comp gave opportunities to compete and enjoy the game they love. Congratulations to all of the teams: TIMA White, TIMA Black, Pioneer/Youth Town, Allenvale kura and Papanui Kimi Ora.
Special acknowledgements to: Natalie, Solomon, Brittney and Ivan for upholding our honoured qualities of Noho Tahi, Aroha, Kotahitanga and Manaakitanga. They were awarded with special certificates and embroidered CBA bags for their outstanding play and leadership.
After an exciting final round of games, Papanui Kimi Ora emerged as the league champions—well done!
Gratitude to our photographer for all the photos of our Inclusion League. A huge shout out to l.exton_photography for the beautiful pics! Please find her on Facebook for Sports and Events photography. Thanks Lillian! A shout out to Matt Vernick from BBNZ for supporting us on scoreboard! Shout outs to the coaches, staff, whanau and especially the players!
We are looking forward to growing this league next year in terms 2 and 3 2025!
