BNZ Kiwi Hoops is Basketball New Zealand’s national basketball programme for tamariki. It uses basketball activities and games-based learning to support tamariki to develop skills and confidence and grow their love for the game.
The programme also provides best practice tools and resources for coaches, teachers, parents, volunteers, and administrators to ensure all tamariki can play basketball in a safe and enjoyable environment.
To ensure the programme is delivering the right experiences for participants, there are five ways that BNZ Kiwi Hoops Programmes are delivered across the country.
At Canterbury Basketball Association, we offer the following BNZ Kiwi Hoops Programmes:
For ages 4-7 years old on a Monday at 3.45-4.30pm click here to register.

Term One Pricing –
5 years old to 7 years old- 1 child is $100.00, $90.00 for second or more children.
8 years old to 10 years old- 1 child is $100.00, $90.00 for second or more children.
11 years old to 13 years old- 1 child is $100.00, $90.00 for second or more children.

PIONEER HOOPS ACADEMY
The Pioneer Hoops After School Academy is a seven to eight week program run by Pioneer Basketball Club on Tuesday afternoons during term at Pioneer Stadium.
Focus: Introduction and development of key fundamental skills (dribbling, passing, defense, shooting, footwork) with small sided games at the end of the session (1v1, 2v2 & 3X3). We will use game-like situations for participants to learn the rules of basketball and put their skill in practice.

The Selwyn Hawks Hoops Academy run at several locations across the Selwyn District catering for ages 5-13 at all locations.
Darfield High School:

Lincoln Event Centre:
Wednesdays: February 4th – March 25th
Mixed Junior Group (Year 1-4) 3:30pm – 4:15pm
