Canterbury Basketballs’ James Lissaman was very pleased that the effort by Otago, Canterbury, and Nelson to put this tournament together paid off:

“It was great to have so many people come up to Sam, Denise, Rebecca, or myself, throughout the tournament, and thank us for putting in the effort to deliver this tournament.

“We knew that this was the right thing to do, when so many of the schools from the South Island shared their disappointment with BBNZ for cancelling their version of the tournament last year (and once our tournament was approved be SSNZ, getting multiple enquiries from North Island teams to try and enter it)

“Every time I walked into the Stadium, it was gratifying to see in person how valued an event for Junior High School Students was!”
