With youth basketball expanding at record pace, CBA is launching a dedicated U16 Coach Development Programme to support the next wave of coaching talent.
Ready to start coaching or fast‑track your development? The 2026 U16 Coach Development Programme offers an opportunity for emerging coaches with NO to two years’ experience who want to grow in line with the CBA’s Style of Coaching and strengthen their capability to coach within club basketball environments. Places are limited.
Across the programme, coaches will co‑coach in the U16 4×4 Development Programme from Sunday March 1st to Sunday April 12th (weekly, two-hour sessions), gaining hands‑on support from trained CBA Coach Developers. You’ll grow your on‑court presence by leading small sided games (what was called “drills”) and deepening your understanding of the Canterbury style of play (SOP).
We also encourage experienced coaches who are looking to expand their influence as coach developers to apply. This role is a great opportunity to support the growth of emerging coaches, share your expertise, and give back to your local club community by helping strengthen coaching across the CBA pathway.
Expressions of interest for the 2026 U16 Coach Development Programme are now open. If you’re ready to commit and accelerate your coaching journey, apply here.
Applications close February 23rd.

Expressions of interest are open to all coaches. We encourage everyone, from Year 12–13 high school basketball players, parents, local club coaches, tertiary education students and U18/U20 Mainland Representative players, keen to expand their understanding of the game from a coaching perspective to apply. All programme costs for coaches are fully covered by the CBA.
