U19 Trial Announcements

U19 Men’s and Women’s Trials are now open to register.

Date for Trial is Sunday 27th February.

3pm for Women and 4.30pm for Men at Cowles Stadium. 

If you are unavailable to attend any/all trials but would still like to be considered, please email ben@canterbury.basketball or toni@Canterbury.basketball.

Wear appropriate training clothing, shorts and a reversible training singlet if you have one and you must have a mouth guard. Otherwise it maybe good to bring a dark top and a light top. Please also remember to bring a water bottle.

As we are using council venues and under the guidance of BBNZ all players must be double vaccinated and have their Vaccination pass to enter the venues and play at the Regional and National tournaments, this includes trials. Please bring these with you if you are attending.

If you make the team the estimated costs associated for the Rep Preparation Program(RPP) and Regional qualifiers are $60-$90 

If your team qualifies for Nationals estimated costs will be $460 (not greater than that amount).

To be eligible to trial for Canterbury you must fit under one of these categories:

  • If you reside within the bounds of the Canterbury Metro or Selwyn area and attend a Canterbury Metro or Selwyn area school your association affiliation must be with CBA
  • If you reside outside the bounds of Canterbury Metro and Selwyn but attend school within the boundary of Canterbury Metro, you may choose to register with either the CBA, or the other association. Note – you must not have  changed affiliation in the last 2 years. (Unless you change schools or the area you reside)
