This year we have had 17 teams request entry into our Premier Boys High School Division One competition. This competition is capped at 16 teams to provide variety and competitiveness within our format.
Upon receiving entries for the competition, our ranking committee got to work to provide their order of teams based on rationales submitted by teams and their knowledge in the Canterbury Basketball space. This meant our three lowest ranked teams have to fight for two spots in Division one, with the losing team staying in or being relegated to division two.

Last night we had 15th seed Riccarton High take on 16th seed Lincoln High in an evenly matched contest at Cowles Stadium.
While Riccarton were first on the board, their fouling let them down, giving Lincoln ample practice at the line. Declan McGill of Lincoln lead the scoring, while Liam Malins (Riccarton) high scored for them.
Final score was 89-79 to Lincoln. Congratulations to Lincoln on making Division One.

Riccarton continue their quest to stay in Division one with a game against 17th seed Papanui High School tonight.
Come down to Cowles Stadium to catch all the action, as Riccarton and Papanui fight for the last remaining place in Division One.
