Level 1 Referee Training Course

Registrations are open for referees to attend the BBNZ Level 1 practical referees’ workshop. This is an opportunity to upskill your refereeing and also to seek advancement along our Referee Development Pathway.

Referee trainer Gavin Zimmerman will deliver the course Tuesday, March 26th, 6pm to 8pm at St. Andrews high school.

To receive a Level 1 Referee certification, referees must complete 3 steps including this practical workshop:

1. Complete the online learning component via SportTutor (estimated time around 3 hours or so)
2. Register for and complete a Level 1 practical workshop (please complete the online component first), and
3. Have an in-game assessment by a certified referee trainer. (Once you have done the first two steps, you can set a time to be assessed, by filling in this form and we will arrange a referee trainer to assess you to sign you off.)

We encourage those on the Rep Raise Programme for Referees to be a part of this, but this course is an important step for all who want to advance along the referee development pathway in Canterbury
