Checkers is calling for girls aged 13 and under who are interested in playing club basketball this year to attend their trial
The team will be entered in the CBA Girls U13 competition, which starts up in May. Competition games are played on Sundays and there is one training a week on Thursdays from 5.30-7.00pm at Westburn School, 257 Waimairi Rd.
“This team once again will be coached by the very experienced Lauren Cahill who some of you may recognise from our Checkers Miniball League. She brings a wealth of knowledge in developing young basketballers and establishing the all important fundamental skills required to progress further into the next stages of the game.”
The Club offers a great pathway for our female side of the club with teams also in GU16, French Cup (formally U19s but now targets the 17-24 age group), and Premier grade teams.
