Girls Got Game – Term Four

Five schools, and over 70 girls involved each week, made for a very successful Girls Got Game programme in Term Four!

We saw girls, from the age of 7 through to the age of 13, come through our in-school Girls Got Game sessions this term. We visited Banks Ave, Hillmorton, Chisnallwood, Ilam and Christchurch East schools.

Girls Got Game sessions are designed to be inclusive spaces where girls of all skill levels can come together, build camaraderie, and foster a love for basketball.

Coaches emphasize teamwork, communication, and leadership, teaching girls how to navigate challenges both on and off the court.

A crucial component of Girls Got Game sessions is the presence of female mentors and coaches who serve as role models for the young players. These mentors share their experiences, inspiring girls to pursue their passion for sports.
