In partnership with Institute of Hoops, the Canterbury Basketball Association is establishing the Skills Factory in Term 2 of 2026, led by Adam Morgan (founder of Institute of Hoops). Adam Morgan was the 2025 Coach of the Year and is regarded as one of New Zealand’s top skills coaches.
The Skills Factory is a targeted skills accelerator programme designed to bridge the gap between concept understanding and skill execution within the Canterbury Basketball pathway. While CBA has a strong foundation in teaching what to do through our Style of Play (SOP), this programme focuses on developing the how — the technical skills required to execute these concepts consistently and under pressure.
The programme will run Mondays and Fridays, players able to register for one or both. The Friday skills session is designed to prepare players to perform in their weekend club competition games.
The programme provides players and coaches within our community pathways the opportunity to develop in a high‑repetition, high‑support environment, aligned directly to CBA’s Style of Play and Style of Coaching.
Players can register for the programme here.
