SI Junior HS Tournament – Day Four Wrap

The SI Junior HS Basketball Tournament has now come to a close, with 196 games now in the books

All 61 teams that competed played their final game of the tournament, with every team playing six or seven games across the four days, and Parakiore being and excellent venue for a tournament of this size (with enough space to accommodate a few more teams next time we host it here!)

Canterbury Basketballs’ James Lissaman was very pleased that the effort by Otago, Canterbury, and Nelson to put this tournament together paid off:

“It was great to have so many people come up to Sam, Rebecca, or myself, throughout the tournament, and thank us for putting in the effort to deliver this tournament again.

“The growth in terms of team numbers from last year’s event in Nelson fills all of us (the Steering Committee) with a huge amount of confidence that this tournament will continue growing and become an entrenched fixture in the SSNZ calendar going forward.

“Every time I walked into the Stadium, it was gratifying to see in person how valued an event for Junior High School Students was!”
