Day Two of the SI Junior HS Tournament is now done, with the half-way stage now passed, and the playoff picture getting clearer
The attention in the tournament now shifts to playoffs, with only the Boys’ A Grade still in pool play (and four teams in Pool B are tied at 2-2, with one of those teams joining Nelson Boys, St. Bede’s and Shirley Boys’ in the top four playoffs).
The Girls’ A Grade has their Preliminary Finals at 8:30am on Monday, before both B Grades play their Quarter-Finals.

Otago Basketball’s Competition and Officials Manager Rebecca Moon is fulfilling the Technical Commissioner role in Nelson, and is pretty happy with how the tournament is going:
“Day two has been full on for our officials, who have come along to represent each of their schools.
“With an average of 2-3 games a day, there has been a lot of development and learning for them, so it is awesome to see the progress that they have made so far. We have four referee trainers from across the South Island who have given up their time to support these young referees.
I’m super grateful for the team of referees that we have, and referee trainers, as the standard of officiating has been impressive!”
