One week Until tip off!
We are just one week out from our flagship high school competitions tipping off for the 2025 season.
This season sees a slight change in all comps, with both Thomson and Whelan Division one gaining an extra team, while Division Two in the same comps are a little lighter.
With both 2024 finalists from Thomson and Whelan division two competitions out of the picture, two new finalist’s and a new champion is guaranteed.
The National champs are back and looking to go back-to-back, while we also see Rams players across several of these schools looking to put on a show for the whole division.
.
Our Division Two looks to provide some good competition, with last year’s finalists out the picture. Who will be our finalists this season?

Our Division One Whelan comp also looks a bit different with 2024 Division Two winners deciding to jump up and compete with the five-peat champs St Andrew’s and the other division one teams. Will St Andrew’s make it six from six?

Just like their Male counterparts, Whelan Division two promises new champions and finalists, with Hagley’s departure and Ashburton’s promotion. We also welcome back Papanui High to the mix, while Rolleston have stepped away.

And lastly the young NZCT Grocott competition. This comp again has 10 teams, with two teams leaving, and being replaced by two new teams. Hillmorton and Cashmere still look strong for this season, while Shirley looks to make the finals with a predominantly year 10 team. CBHS and Papanui are the new kids to the block and hoping to put up a fierce challenge.

We look forward to seeing all the teams out on the court. If you want to find out where the action is, head over to out Thomson and Whelan webpage and our Facebook page.
