Canterbury Basketball is running the following programmes and events in June 2025

This Month sees the continuation of our winter club competitions! You can easily click on any of the links below to find out more, or you can see everything in one place on our Events Calendar.

Cowles Primary School Competitions– Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Club Basketball Competitions – our Aquapro Midweek, and weekend club competitions are all in full effect
Flagship High School Competitions – NZCT Grocott Trophy, NZCT Whelan Trophy and NZCT Thomson Trophy competitions are will be midway through in June

BNZ Kiwi Hoops at Cowles – Mondays Hoops finishes up near the end of Term Two
Skills Accelerator Program– Mondays can accommodate late registrations, before the programme finishes

The U20s National Tournament moves to Tauranga for King’s Birthday weekend where our U20 Men and U20 Women will look to defend their 2024 titles.
U16 and U18 rep teams will enter the final phase of their build ups to their respective national tournaments.
The U18 National Tournament will be hosted by BBNZ and CBA June 30th – July 3rd Cowles Stadium and Shirley Avonside High School.
- Canterbury have 4 teams entered.
All U16 and U19 Mainlands teams will resume their programmes in build up for the Mainlands tournament July 5-7th at Selwyn Sports Center.
- U16 Boys 1030am – Noon Sundays @ Hillmorton
- U19 Boys 130pm – 3pm Sundays @ Hillmorton
- U16 and U19 Girls 930 – 11am @ Middleton Grange

The Game Ready activation (warm up) will be rolled out across all schools and clubs in preparation for the start of the 2025 high school and club season.
- All clubs and most schools have a designated leader who has been trained in the new warmup, however video and written materials on the programme can be found here.
- Video content will also be loaded onto CoachMate this month.
With the addition of Game Ready programme and other new content, the CoachMate app continue to go from strength to strength. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, DOWNLOAD IT NOW!

Coaching Girls: A Beginner Coaches Course will be offered: Wednesday, 11th of June from 6:30-8pm; upstairs at our offices to the left of Cowles stadium. Register here.
