What’s On – March 2026

Canterbury Basketball is running the following programmes and events in March 2026

The beginning of the year is relatively quiet in terms of basketball, but there are some things starting to happen. You can now easily click on any of the links below to find out more, or you can see everything in one place on our Events Calendar.

  • CBA Weekend Winter Club Entries are due Wednesday 18 March. Club Administrators have all been sent the entry pack which contains everything they need.

 

  • BNZ Kiwi Hoops– Monday Hoops at Cowles 3:45-4:30 4-7 and 8-10-Year-olds, 4.40-5.25pm 11–13-year-olds.
  • Skills Accelerator Program– 4.45-5.30pm Skills 13-16 years (Monday at Cowles Stadium).
  • Midnight Basketball – Friday’s 7:00-10:00pm at Cowles Stadium (open to high-school aged students).

 

  • Representative Trials – U16, U18 and U20 Rep and Mainlands Trials run March 1st and 8th
    • All selected players will participate in either the Rep A/B teams, Mainland development teams, OR the new U16 Development programme.
    • Rep and Mainland’s teams will participate in the Mainlands Blitz tournament March 21st and 22nd at MainPower Stadium.

 

 

  • Girls Got Game– delivering at various schools across Christchurch.
  • Girls Only Skill Program– weeks 2 and 3 of a three-week program allowing girls to gain skill and confidence leading to club trials.
  • GLOWfest– a girls only glow in the dark 3X3 basketball experience. Enter you team here.

 

  • Walking Basketball – Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm at Parakiore Recreation Centre (open to ages 12-adult).

 

  • Junior Referee Development Program- Being run alongside the representative Signature League program. Contact scott@canterbury.basketball to enquire
