The Horomaka Classic is in its second year as a high school preseason tournament.

Key organiser Dave Langrell is delighted to welcome the following out of town teams to the 2026 iteration: Auckland Silverbacks; Mount Albert Grammar school; Otago Boys’ High; and Southland Boys’ High.

There are also three Girls’ teams competing in the Juniors Boys’ grade: Canterbury Under 16A Rep Team; Horomaka Select Team; and the St. Andrew’s College Senior Girls.

32 Teams entered (16 in each grade)
Games scheduled to tip off at 8:30am on Tuesday 7 April, and the last games tipping off at 4:00pm on Thursday 9 April 2026
Hillmorton High School, Parakiore, and Middleton Grange all hosting games
Make sure you validate parking when at Parakiore to gain 120 minutes free (or risk a $75 fine)
Free entry at all venues for spectators

The tournament also doubles a fundraiser for Hillmorton basketball, with every dime will be put back into helping Hillmorton kids pay season and tournament fees.
