Canterbury Basketball is running the following programmes and events in February 2026

The beginning of the year is relatively quiet in terms of basketball, but there are some things starting to happen. You can now easily click on any of the links below to find out more, or you can see everything in one place on our Events Calendar.

Local Primary Competitions will be beginning to start back up around the City.

BNZ Kiwi Hoops– Monday Hoops at Cowles 3:45-4:30 4-7 and 8-10-Year-olds, 4.40-5.25pm 11–13-year-olds.
Skills Accelerator Program– 4.45-5.30pm Skills 13-16 years (Monday at Cowles Stadium).

The Game On Point Ready activation (warm up)
- All clubs and most schools have a designated leader who has been trained in the new warmup, however video and written materials on the programme can be found here.
- Video content will also be loaded onto CoachMate
- With the addition of Game Ready program and other new content, the CoachMate app continue to go from strength to strength. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, DOWNLOAD IT NOW!
Coach Connection Forum

Girls only skill development series- 23 Feb, 2 March and 9 March. Opportunity for girls to gain skills and meet the right club for them. Register here.
Girls Got Game will be delivering in various schools throughout February. Contact sam@canterbury.basketball to book your school in.

Junior Referee Development will be taking place in conjunction with Signature League kicking off on the 10th of February. keep a close eye on our socials for more info.
Level 0 Introductory Courses will be taking place at schools around the city. If you or your school is interested in having one of these sessions, please reach out to scott@canterbury.basketball.
