It’s the final countdown…
gMajority of our regular season is wrapping up this week, with finals basketball now the focus along with tournament prep.
Thomson Division One- Top 8
One game left in the regular season for our Division one lads. The fight for semi final berths and avoiding play ins is tight with just one game to decide this.
🏆Cashmere vs StAC- the last time for this season with the Dowson cup up for grabs after Cashmere has successfully defended it against Christs.
🏀Christ’s vs Kaiapoi- Christ’s will need to get back to full strength with a good win to help their semi final hopes.
🏀Shirley vs Hillmorton- A classic rivalry seen within both Grocott and Thomson. Hillmorton will want to secure their number one spot.
🏀St Bede’s vs St Thomas- this match up could secure a team a spot in the semis and avoid a play in game.
Thomson Division Two- Bottom 8
The chance to secure play in berths is vital with only the top two teams having a chance to make quarter finals if they win play ins.
🏀Burnside vs Ashburton- both teams currently in the bottom three will be wanting to ensure they can compete come tournament time.
🏀CBHS vs Middleton- A close game earlier in the season, Middleton will be wanting to make sure they finish above CBHS by beating them again.
🏀Lincoln vs Rangiora- Lincoln have crept up the ladder to now make play ins if they beat Rangiora this week.
🏀Rolleston vs Riccarton- top vs bottom of the table. Can Riccarton cause an upset?
Whelan Division One
Whelan Div one is now entering its final phase, with three catch up games now completed.
Top four play with winners going straight to semis, while losers will play the winners of the 5-8 matches as a quarter final.
🏀St Andrews vs Hillmorton (1v4)- StAC have gone unbeaten this season (and last). So will be looking for another perfect Whelan season.
🏀Cashmere vs St Margarets (2v3)- St Margarets need to find their feet to secure a win and semi final spot.
🏀CGHS vs Marian (6v7)- A close contest last time with Marian nearly beating CGHS with no subs. Can they have full strength and beat them now?
🏀Avonside vs Kaiapoi (5v8)- Avonside finished regular season claiming the Phil Burns Trophy. Now they will want to make quarter finals and go further.
🏀Rangiora vs Villa (9v10)- Classification game for these two teams before they head to tournament.
Thomson Division Two, Whelan Division Two and Grocott have two weeks of regular season left before their finals.

🏀Cathedral vs RNLS- Top vs bottom clash. Can RNLS cause an upset.
🏀Oxford vs Papanui- Our current end vs 3rd match up as a preview to a possible semifinal.
🏀Te Aratai vs Hornby- Can Te Aratai breach the top four with a win over Hornby?
Whelan Div two
🏀Ashburton vs Papanui- Papanui are on the road for a tough game against comp leaders.
🏀Middleton vs Rangi Ruru- A tight race for second place.
🏀Cathedral vs Oxford- Cathedral looking to come into the term strong after a break to refresh.
Grocott Division One
🏀Cashmere vs Rangiora- Cashmere will be wanting all the points they can to boost their standings.
🏀Hillmorton vs Shirley- A possible final preview in this match up.
🏀St Thomas vs Rolleston- St Thomas looking to get another win under their belt to jump up the standings.
Grocott Division Two
🏀Christs vs Papanui- If Papanui win they could jump above Christs on the ladder.
🏀CBHS vs St Bedes- CBHS will be looking to stay on top of the leader board now.
🏀Lincoln vs Kaiapoi- A tough battle for Lincoln facing number two Kaiapoi.
