Australian Bushfire Fundraiser

Carlton Vivian is organising a “Basketball-a-thon” to raise funds for the Australian Red Cross

Many of you will know Carlton as an avid supporter of basketball in Canterbury, and a player on Wednesday nights in the CSO team: “I’ve taken it upon myself to do a basketball fundraiser for the Australian bushfires. This is something that I am doing of my own accord. I want to do this to raise money for the people affected by the disaster in Australia from the community around Christchurch, and do something special here.

“I will be hosting a basketball fundraiser on Saturday the 22nd of February at the Bishopdale YMCA from 12.30pm til 7.00pm

“There will be a raffle as well at the conclusion of the fundraiser. There are some amazing prizes that have been gifted to me from BBNZ and the CRFU.

“All proceeds will go to the Red Cross in Australia. Each 30 minute slot is only $25 per team, to take part in what will be an amazing afternoon.”

Each thirty minute game will be run as a social game, with refereeing donated by CBA referees, and the court hire costs covered by the CBA.

To book in your team’s preferred slot, please contact Carlton via (he will need to know what sort of level your team will be so he can match you up with a similar one in terms of ability/age):

Once Carlton has given your team its’ slot, you will get a number (from 1-26). When depositing your team’s $25 into the CBA Bank account, please use the reference “Bushfire [your team number]”:
