Results from Mainland Invitational weekend 2023.
Last weekend we had 3 days full of basketball from sun up to sun down. We had over 120 games across 2 venues and 7 courts.
The GU15 saw South Canterbury Black take on Marlborough White for the GU15 Final. The game went down to the wire with South Canterbury Black takin the win 56 – 50.
BU15 Final had Nelson Blue vs South Canterbury Black. Nelson Blue could not be stopped and scored 101 points to South Canterbury Black’s 61.
WU18 had a double round robin with 4 teams, having the champion be the top of the ladder at the end of the weekend. With not dropping one game the whole tournament South Canterbury won the Women under 18 Mainland Invitational tournament going 6-0.
The MU18 had our very own Canterbury Red take on Nelson in the Final. The game went back and forth point for point in the second half. But in the end Canterbury Red came out on top with an 82-80 point win.
Also, wanted to give a huge shout out to all the referees and floor controllers over the weekend as without them the games wouldn’t have been possible (even players reffing before/after their games over 3 days).
