Three Years of Supporting Canterbury Basketball
Canterbury Basketball would like to say a huge thank you to Adam Baylis and the team at Signature Homes North, who are now in their third year of supporting the CBA Representative Programme.
Since coming on board, Signature Homes North have been far more than a name on a singlet. Their support and belief in what we are trying to build has played an important role in strengthening our representative pathway and, in particular, has been critical to the establishment and growth of Signature League.
Signature League began with a simple idea: create the best possible off-season development environment for aspiring representative players, coaches and referees.
Rather than simply creating more basketball, we wanted to create better basket
ball.
The programme places players in competitive, high-pressure situations where they have to make decisions, understand time and score, execute under pressure and learn how to play the game the right way.
At the same time, our coaches are given the opportunity to lead teams, develop their craft and receive support from experienced CBA Coach Developers. Referees are also provided with a quality environment in which to develop alongside the players and coaches.
Three years on, Signature League has become a cornerstone of the CBA development pathway and, we believe, one of the best off-season player and coach development programmes in the country.
It is now firmly connected to our wider Representative and Mainlands programmes, giving aspiring players a clear opportunity to prepare for the representative season while providing our coaches with another meaningful environment in which to learn, experiment and grow.
That doesn’t happen without people willing to invest in development for the long term.
Adam and the Signature Homes North team have backed the programme from the beginning. Importantly, they have trusted CBA to use their support where it can have the greatest impact for young people and coaches across our basketball community.
That kind of partnership is incredibly valuable to community sport.
As we head into another Signature League and look towards the 2027 representative season, we want to acknowledge Adam and the entire Signature Homes North team for three years of outstanding support.
Thank you for believing in our players, our coaches and our vision for basketball development in Canterbury.
We are incredibly proud of what Signature League has become — and grateful to have Signature Homes North alongside us as we continue to make it even better.
