Grading is all done for the BU15, BU17 and MU20 grades, so I’ll be able to get a few more rounds of the competition draws out to you all now that this is done (hopefully this week). I’ve managed to have every coach clash factored in to the draw, but the BU17 coaches who play in MU23 grade especially will notice that I wasn’t able to get a game break for travel for these games (so have them played in the closest venues possible – Cowles and Ōrua Paeroa (Shirley/Avonside).

A few reminders and notes:

  • Welcome to the Women’ s Premier, BU13 and GU15 grades – they all begin playing this weekend, so we will now fully be up and running!
  • If some of your players were not pre-entered on Glory League, or pre-printed on scoresheets it is because at least one of the following needs doing: players need to register via your club registration form; and your club administrator needs to assign them into the team they are playing for.
  • Mouthguards – a few players forgot these on Saturday and had to buy new ones. Everyone under the age of 18 must wear one during their games. To make this easier to administer, we enforce this at U20 and below on a bulk level.
  • The Winter Club Formats are attached if you had not seen them yet.
  • Sunday tip times at Cowles – we may have to revert these back to our 2019 tip-times (Cowles ended up not being able to push the Roller Derby start back now that we’re in Level One). We will still guarantee at least 5 minutes on-court warmup for games though. I will be in touch with all Sunday teams this week to adjust the draw if needed.
  • If you, or someone in your club is able and keen to start refereeing, please get in touch with marty@canterbury.basketball to organize this (we are definitely on the search for way more people to fill this important role in delivering basketball to so many people!)

The Sub-grades for each of the MU20, MU17 and BU15 grades have now been set. These are unlikely to be 100% exactly where teams should be, but I think we’ve done a very good job here considering the paramaters we’re dealing with due to COVID-19 (and there is a built in option for promotion/relegation in each competition format too, so we should end up with the teams in the right place). There is a gap between teams in Pool 1 and Pool 2 for those grades with sub-pools:
