Canterbury Basketball is running the following programmes and events in August 2025

This Month sees us reach the conclusion of our Winter Club Season. You can easily click on any of the links below to find out more, or you can see everything in one place on our Events Calendar.

Flagship High School Competitions – NZCT Grocott Trophy, NZCT Whelan Trophy and NZCT Thomson Trophy competitions enter the playoffs. Division II Finals are on Monday 18 August, and Division I Finals on Tuesday the 19th
CBA Club Competitions finals week – Cowles will host our weekend club finals from Saturday 16 August to Thursday the 21st, with all grades entering playoffs in August
Aquapro Midweek – this competition wraps up on August 13
Cowles Primary School Competitions – running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
South Island Tournaments – Nelson is hosting the Y9/10 Tournament which CBA is helping administer, and then the AA Qualifying for BBNZ. Invercargill is hosting the A Qualifying, and Non-Qualifying Tournament in Winter Tournament Week too
Term 4 Cowles Miniball – Entry forms will be coming out for our Year 3/4 midweek Miniball. Entry forms will be going direct to schools who have previously entered. If your school is local to Cowles, and would like to enter in this competition please reach out to scott@canterbury.basketball

BNZ Kiwi Hoops at Cowles – Mondays Hoops 3:45-4:30 5-10 Year olds, 4:40 – 5:25 10-15 Year olds.
Skills Accelerator Program– Will run in conjunction with second hoops session.

U14 Development Programme Starts – registrations are now open, with trials for the different options on August 17

The Game Ready activation (warm up) will be rolled out across all schools and clubs in preparation for the start of the 2025 high school and club season.
- All clubs and most schools have a designated leader who has been trained in the new warmup, however video and written materials on the programme can be found here.
- Video content will also be loaded onto CoachMate this month.
- With the addition of Game Ready programme and other new content, the CoachMate app continue to go from strength to strength. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, DOWNLOAD IT NOW!
