BBNZ Hiring Two Community Leads Here!

The Canterbury based community-focused roles have just been advertised, which are part of basketball’s Strengthen and Adapt Plan

Basketball in Aotearoa has experienced strong growth during the last decade with more people playing, watching, and becoming fans.  Through BBNZ’s Strengthen and Adapt Plan we are transforming basketball across the country.

Key focus areas include growing the game for girls and women, participation and player well-being, developing community clubs, spaces to play and quality development for coaches and officials. Two of the roles advertised will be based in Canterbury!

Do yo have what it takes to lead transformation?

BBNZ are looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about people, communities, and sport
  • Capable of leading projects from start to finish
  • Able to think strategically, plan and deliver on the desired outcomes
  • Resilient and flexible with a positive attitude
  • Keen to build strong relationships with diverse groups
  • Committed to outstanding customer focus

Canterbury’s two roles will develop and implement community development strategies and deliver development projects with targeted areas, clubs and communities.  Each role may focus on different priorities including: creating and strengthening community clubs, growing the game for girls and women; facilities and spaces to play; helping clubs and communities develop coaches and officials; providing participation programmes; and improving player well-being.

This is a full-time, permanent, employment opportunity that requires flexibility and a willingness to travel (a branded vehicle will be part of the remuneration package).  An understanding of basketball as a sport would be advantageous.  To apply, visit the seek job listing and click “apply”.
