One of our Waitaha Rep coaches will be leading the Cowles Hoops Program in 2020
Nate Searle, who has been instrumental in the growth of the Lions Basketball Club, has just reached an agreement with the CBA to run the Cowles Stadium Hoops Academy in 2020. This program has been delivered by some excellent coaches in the past few years, but Nate’s ideas for the program, and the chance to strengthen the connection the Lions’ club has in their local community, made him the ideal candidate to lead Hoops in 2020. The agreement will see the Lions Academy combine and run exclusively out of Cowles Stadium on Mondays. Children in Years 0-9 can sign up right now by clicking here ($85 for one child, and family discounts available).
Canterbury Basketball’s Development Program Manager Lori McDaniel praised the appointment of Searle: “The CBA is extremely excited to have an up and coming coach, Nate Searle, running our Cowles Hoops program.
“Nate has shown great commitment to basketball over the past few years. This has been demonstrated through his involvement in a variety of programs – Waitaha, Mainland, Celebration, all at a number of levels. We know we have landed a good one!”
Nate summed up his feelings about the appointment very succinctly: “I am really excited to be working with CBA on this, as it is all about the development of kids/teens and growing the sport of basketball on the east side of Christchurch!”
