Richard Kenny Appointed as CBA Referee Officer

We’re excited to formally announce that Richard Kenny will be joining our office staff in March

Clive Beaumont (CBA General Manager) had this to say about our new addition: “We are pleased to have recruited Richard, who shows a great passion for refereeing and enabling others to enjoy the role too. He has filled a number of roles within the basketball community over the last decade, and demonstrated a deep understanding of our basketball community, and that building relationships within it will lead to more referees on court, and those referees feeling both supported and rewarded for their efforts.”

Enthusiasm sums up how Richard is feeling about the new role: “I’m excited at the opportunity to come on board as CBA’s new Referee Appointments and Development Officer. For many years, Canterbury has been a leader in New Zealand when it comes to referees, and their development, and it’s an honour to be given the chance to work with you all in continuing to develop a great referee culture. Together, let us be about ‘Enlisting and Equipping People to Enjoy Refereeing Basketball.’

“I’m looking forward to being in touch with you all very soon”

Richard will officially begin working on Monday March 6, and will be able to be reached on email via richard@canterbury.basketball
