Canterbury Basketball is running the following programmes and events in September 2025

We’re now finished with our Winter Club Season, but there are still plenty of things happening! You can easily click on any of the links below to find out more, or you can see everything in one place on our Events Calendar.

Cowles Primary School Competitions – running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Term 4 Cowles Miniball – Entry forms have been sent directly to schools who have previously entered. If your school is local to Cowles, and would like to enter in this Y3/4 competition please reach out to scott@canterbury.basketball

BNZ Kiwi Hoops at Cowles – Mondays Hoops 3:45-4:30 5-10 Year olds, 4:40 – 5:25 10-15 Year olds.
Skills Accelerator Program– Will run in conjunction with second hoops session.

U14 Development Programme Starts
- All 230 players will participate in either the
  - 5V5 programme to travel to Invercargill for the U14 Regional Tournament.
  - 4V4 Programme to player in the 4V4 Festival September 20th at Shirley OR
  - 3X3 programme to play in the 3X3 festival September 21st at Cowles.

12 Coach developers will be working within the new U14 Coach Programme to support new coaches.
The Game On Point Ready activation (warm up) will be rolled out across all U14 programmes!
- All clubs and most schools have a designated leader who has been trained in the new warmup, however video and written materials on the programme can be found here.
- Video content will also be loaded onto CoachMate this month.
- With the addition of Game Ready programme and other new content, the CoachMate app continue to go from strength to strength. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, DOWNLOAD IT NOW!

Girls Got Game continues to run in schools throughout the year. Kura can get in touch with: sam@canterbury.basketball to nominate themselves for these free sessions!

Aquapro Inclusion League is continuing in Term 3. If interested in joining in the future please get in touch with: scott@canterbury.basketball
Walking Basketball is under way on Thursday evenings at Cowles. If you are keen to get on court in term four email: sam@canterbury.basketball
