All grades had a week off last week, so it’s back to business this week.
After a week off here’s how we stand:
Thomson Division One
Top 8
Christ’s College 1st, Hillmorton 2nd, St Bede’s 3rd, St Andrew’s 4th, Cashmere 5th, Kaiapoi, Shirley and St Thomas 6th=.
Games for this week:
🏆Christ’s College vs St Andrew’s- Are StAC going to be the first team to take the trophy off Christ’s?
🏀Kaiapoi vs St Thomas- Will this game separate the three bottom teams?
🏀Shirley vs St Bede’s- How will the young Shirley team go against a strong Bede’s?
🏀Hillmorton vs Cashmere- This game was played Tuesday just been due to Cashmere exchange.
Bottom 8
Rolleston 1st, Rangiora 2nd, Middleton 3rd, CBHS 4th, Ashburton 5th, Burnside and Lincoln 6th=, Riccarton 8th.
Games for this week:
🏀Ashburton vs Riccarton- a team who showed out strong in Play ins seems to be struggling. How will they manage on the road?
🏀CBHS vs Rangiora- CBHS under new leadership are looking strong. How will they go against a previous top 8 side?
🏀Lincoln vs Burnside- This game will separate these two teams currently sitting equal with no head to head result yet.
🏀Middleton vs Rolleston- 1 v3 should show how much of gap there is between top 10 and the rest.
Thomson Division Two
After their first round robin, Cathedral are sitting top, with Papanui and Hornby battling for 2nd. Oxford is 4th, while newcomers Te Aratai are 5th and RNLS 6th.
This week’s games:
🏀Cathedral vs Oxford- It is likely Cathedral will continue to dominate in this grade.
🏀Te Aratai vs Papanui- A tough ask for Te Aratai as they face a side determined to make D1.
🏀Hornby vs RNLS- Hornby are looking to do one better than a finals appearance this year.
Whelan Division One
Table currently sits Cashmere 1st, St Margaret’s 2nd, StAC 3rd (catch up game to play), Hillmorton 4th, Avonside 5th, Kaiapoi 6th, CGHS 7th (catch up game to play), Marian 8th (catch up game to play), Rangiora 9th and Villa 10th (catch up game to play).
🏀CGHS vs Villa- This could be Villa’s chance to get a win on the board.
🏀Hillmorton vs St Andrew’s- StAC are looking to get all the points they can, while Hillmorton will be wanting to cement themselves in top 6.
🏀Avonside vs Marian- Marian are shaping up to play well as a team. Can Avonside overcome this teamwork?
🏆St Margarets vs Rangiora- SMC will be looking to retain the trophy for yet another week against Rangiora.
🏀Kaiapoi vs Cashmere- this game has been deferred due to Cashmere exchange.
Whelan Division Two
Unfortunately, a team has withdrawn mid comp, but we are hoping some new blood will come onboard to fill their spot for the remainder of the season.

Grocott Division One
It has been great seeing some close games across the board now that Grocott has two divisions.
Division One top three are battling it out with the other three teams hot on their heels.

🏀Shirley vs Rangiora- a rematch from grading. Who will win this round?
🏀Cashmere vs St Thomas- deferred due to school exchange.
Grocott Division Two
Christs vs CBHS- could be a good match up.
Kaiapoi vs St Bede’s- Kaiapoi looking a lot stronger than last year.
Lincoln vs Papanui- hopefully a close game for these teams.
