End of Season Wrap Info

This information has been sent out to all our club basketball contacts this week, wrapping up our 2022 winter club season

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all the club/school and team organisers for their efforts to help get basketball teams on the court and competing this season. We know it is not a small job to take on, but without people stepping up to help, we would not be experiencing the year-on-year growth in the game here that we have.

A reminder – in 2013 we administered competitions for “only” 81 teams, fast-forward to 2022 and this had ballooned by more than 300% to 254 teams!) Please make sure you thank the people who helped get your teams on the court each week when you see them, and let them know they are appreciated.

End of Season Notes:

  • Major Award Winners – We publicly announced our 2022 Major Award Winners between the Women’s and Men’s Premier League Finals on Saturday. If you weren’t at Cowles, you can see who was honoured by clicking here now
  • CBA 50th Anniversary – Thank you to the dedicated committee who put this highly successful event on last Friday night: Peter Crowhen (Chair); Clive Beaumont; Terry Brunel; Fionna Chapman; Sandra French; Jane Lattimore; and Colleen McFarlin. Photos from the night can be seen on our facebook page
  • Finals Day – Photos are all visible on our facebook page. We will be doing the recaps of these weekends over the next period of time, and will post these on our website when done
  • Surveys – We have just sent out a very short survey to all players who registered to compete in a weekend grade this year (this will help us prioritise what to focus on from an operational standpoint over the next few years). If you did not receive a link to this survey, you can access it here. We also have a more comprehensive survey which is being used to guide the focus for our next Strategic Plan as well.

Please feel free to get in touch with james@canterbury.basketball  if you have some ideas that you can’t adequately convey via the survey.
