Macca’s Thomson and Whelan Draw Release

The first five rounds of the 2019 schedule have now been released

The Whelan and Thomson draw has just been released for the first five weeks – this can be seen by clicking here

The following has been done in most instances

  • Every team has at least one home game in the first three weeks (excepting Papanui and Te Pā boys)
  • Schools with both genders competing have double headers at home as often as possible
  • Late/Early start times on specific weeks accounted for
  • Teams able to play Monday nights at St. Margaret’s have these at the start of the season
  • Papanui boys are scheduled to host Hagley, Linwood and Te Pā in the second half of the year

After Five weeks the Thomson Division One competition will split into top and bottom pools (which will be when I can do some more weeks’ draws)

Shirley and Avonside’s new shared site at Ōrua Paerua (where QEII was) will be hosting opening round games.

The Whelan Division II Format is being finalised (after Hagley withdrew). The bye round for this competition will also match the BBNZ U23 competition (August 6, same as Thomson Division One) to reduce the number of referees required.

Remember to block out Tuesday 27 August to attend Finals Night!
