Canterbury Basketball is running the following programmes and events in April 2025

We’re now starting to see pre-season programmes tipping-off for the 2025 season. You can easily click on any of the links below to find out more, or you can see everything in one place on our Events Calendar.

Cowles Miniball – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Club Trials – Selwyn has advertised which club trials they are running in March
Play In games for Thomson Division One- 3 teams competing for two spots in our Division One competition
Thomson and Whelan Pre Season Tournament at Cowles Stadium

BNZ Kiwi Hoops at Cowles – Mondays still accepting registrations
Skills Accelerator Program– Mondays still accepting registrations

The 2025 Mainlands Qualifying Tournament will run April 12-14th in Nelson with 11 CBA teams across the U16, U18 and U20 age groups competing.
U16, U18 and U20 team will be reselected for their respective national tournaments following the qualifiers.

The Game Ready activation (warm up) will be rolled out across all schools and clubs in preparation for the start of the 2025 high school and club season.
- All clubs and most schools have a designated leader who has been trained in the new warmup, however video and written materials on the programme can be found here.
- Video content will also be loaded onto CoachMate this month.

Junior Referee Development (JRD)– For young referees looking to take their skills to the next level Tuesday 530-730pm at Cowles.
Referee Accelerator Program (RAP)– For players wanting a fast track to refereeing club basketball Tuesday 6pm-830pm at Shirley Avonside.
